Frequently Asked Questions

Q What shall I bring?
A
Towel, spare clothes, wetsuit boots or similar, waterproof top, and black bag for the wet stuff at the end of the day. Please feel free to bring your own kit if you want - B.A's wet suits etc -
Q Do you do lunch?
A
We have a beach cafe on site and you can pre-order lunch in the morning if you wish - veggie options available -
Q What facilities do you have?
A
We have changing rooms, showers on site, a telephone and toilets.
Q When do we start and finish?
A
We always start at 10am and finish at 5pm, you will be told in the morning if different.
Q Are your staff qualified?
A
All the team at South Sands Sailing are qualified to the high standards set out by the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) as well as this the staff are all CRB checked (police checked) and undergo staff training on a regular basis to ensure knowledge and service. We are also affiliated with AALA (Adventurous Activity Licensing Authority).
Q What will happen if the weather is too bad?
A
We run fun relevent contingency plans when the weather is unsafe and still finish at the times stated.
Q What is the youngest age you start sailing at?
A
We start the young cat sailors off at age 8.
Q When do I fill out the booking form?
A
We like you to fill the booking forms out with all relevent information on the morning of the course so that we can talk to you about any small points you may have.
Q When are the Dolphins most active in Salcombe?
